Karen currently resides in Australia. Passionate about nature she started drawing and writing from an early age and developed her own skills as a self-taught artist.
Her academic education took her far from art, as she achieved degrees in Commerce, Internal Auditing and became a Certified Practicing Accountant.
However her interest in art and creativity cultivated her talent in drawing, painting and writing, and since 2010 animal portraits have been her part time painting passion seeing her change it into a full time ambition and career.
Consequently she undertook art training classes with Art Tutor workshops, Drawpaint Academy and was tutored by many practicing artists such as the renowned Australian artist, Peter Findlay. Also gaining a professional approach to painting by completing the course provided by Gayle Levee with Learn & Master Painting.
Influenced by her love of nature, animal portraits & children are her favorite subjects through the mediums of oil and acrylic.
Capturing and translating the soul of pets for owners has grown into a consuming passion with evolving technique and creative aspiration. Her main focus is a detailed and realistic rendering that will capture the vivid and fond memory of each animal.
In her spare time Karen has volunteered at an animal care organisation in their dog walking program, displaying her fondness and caring nature towards man’s best friend.
Polystyrene or Cardboard whimsical characters for newborn’s or toddler’s rooms, displays her creative excitement for nursery décor ideas inspiring enthusiastic first time parents or existing. These are also great décor ideas for children’s parties.
